Corn

Most everything I have read about eclectus diet says they love corn, and corn is good for them, on landofvos their soft mix has corn as an ingredient,
I put some dried corn in with my dry seed mix, not too much though.
I have even a picture of Tiki eating a half of a corn cob,

So whats the deal, is corn good or bad, and why would it be bad???

Corn can lead to allergies in some birds. Eclectus are more prone to allergies than some birds. Not all ekkies have allergies. Corn doesn't have as many vitamins and minerals as some of the other fruits and veggies. It shouldn't make up a large portion of their diet but as long as your eclectus doesn't show signs of an allergy and lots of other fresh produce is offered, it should be fine. My guy (and my other birds) loves corn. The female I fostered loved corn too.

Corn is great- but you shouldnt give them a cob of corn EVERY DAY lol, jasper gets a lot of corn on the cob cos he is underweight and apparently it's a good food for getting them to put on a little weight

I always serve mine cooked on the cob (or off the cob) - on the cob is probably the best as they seem to find it very entertaining to pick away at the cob
