New dad of little girl
This is my new baby . She got home Sat 08-8-09.
we boght her a small hotel and i was told not to place any toys because she'll pre ocupy herself with the toy and will not eat. As a new eclectus owner i would like to ask the comunity to guide me in the correc dirrection. We are feeding her right now a bit of seeds, pellets and fruts, all dryed. We bought her apples and shes eating that now too. All over i 've read vegetable but i have no names on these except corn, but cooked , cooked and dryed of course with the cobb. Dear reders every and all help will be apriciated. my main concern is the pluking. From what i've read they are prone to this vehavior. Thank you once again |

Congratulations! She is beautiful! As for plucking, if she is well stimulated and well fed this should not be a problem. It can also happen due to health problems but at this point in time I would just enjoy her.

Who told you not to give her toys? Dewey has tons but that has never stopped him from eating? Ive never heard of that, someone correct me if Im wrong.
Dewey gets some roudybush pellets in his foraging toys but not a lot. Veggies are very important, variety is key. Stuff like celery, cucumber, grean beans, squash, sweet potatoe, bell peppers, ect. How old is she? If she is young you may want to give her something warm and mushy like quinoa flakes, brown rice with veggie baby food, plain oatmeal, ect. It helps comfort new babies.
