the breeder is teaching me how to hand feed. If I don't feel comfortable taking her home by Saturday, I'll wait until she's weaned, at least 2 months. Even though I am getting comfortable with and enjoying handfeeding I don't have the experience she has to know if something is wrong quick enough to get her to the vet in time. It's very tempting but I'm not sure it's worth the risk.

Oh I completely understand - if something happens I know I wouldnt know the first thing to do, or even know something was wrong until it was too late ya know? If it were me I would just wait the 2 months. I know the waiting is the hardest part, but at least you know that a mistake wont be made (not to say you couldnt handle it!).

I would wait too. The fact that she is not far away makes it easy to share in the feeding as she grows. She will be a beauty for sure! I love ekkies and will have one once I can make a bird dedicated room.
The problem is I want one of all the different species. Will need to figure out away to be a stay @ home parront too LOL

What a cutie. I'd wait for a while too... if you hand feed her every now and then that is great! I think Monet is a beautiful name and would suit her.

Shes adorable. I know you are sitting on pins and needles waiting to bring her home.
The anticipation can really get the best of you sometime. On the other hand at least you are able to go for a visit. Me, I just have to wait. I feel like I am missing out on a lot. I have to wait to get back from vacation to have mine shipped. Congrats... shes a pretty girl. I like both names really, but I would wait until she is hand fed or at least down to one or maybe two feedings a day before considering bringing her home.

She's gorgeous Debbie! She looks like a real sweetheart. I'm so excited for you and her. I think Monet is a beautiful name for the little angel. That's so great that you get to spend time bonding with her while she's still so young. She'll have you wrapped around her little talon long before she comes home. I once made the statement on here that nothing is more manipulative than a male eclectus until I was corrected (and rightly so). The only thing more manipulative is a female! Not that it's a bad thing. And the voices of the girls.....so sweet. Congratulations again!!!!!!! Please continue to torture us with pictures of the sweet little lady. :)
