WOW this looks awsome

YouTube - First freeflight with Eclectus Parrot

This looks awsome, But just watching it scares the hell out of me......

The thought of him flying away.

Would be a lovely thing to teach them, But oh so scary.

Has anyone here ever taught their Ekkie too?

My son is working with my flighted Amazon, in the house, teaching him to come when he calls him. There are classes at a local birdstore to teach recal training. Even then, yes it's scary I'd have to been very sure of the training first.

Im thinking I would like to try it in the house,I dont think I would be game enough to try outside without a harness. But even still Im not sure I would fully trust a harness...
thats not to say I will get her home and the next week try it, Im sure thats a long time away. Just thinking out loud I guess.

Can anyone tell me what experiences you have had with a harness? If any ?

if you go to their website, they offer a variety of classes on teaching/training free flight for you and your parrots.

It takes a LOT of work, and I'd love to try it inside. Maaaybe someday outside. In like, 2 years. Although they have young (started from hatching I assume) sun conures doing it in other vids they have posted.
