I can't see what food that is, and it's not clickable to make it larger. Can you post a link, or at least the name of the food, and preferably a list of ingredients?

I'm gonna say no..... That doesn't look like seeds, fruits, and nuts. Eclectus, generally speaking, do not do well on a pelleted diet. It also has colors. A *BIG* "NO-"NO" for eclectus.

Hi,

I remember you said your girl was screaming less when you cut back on seeds 80 percent, but then you mentioned she was plucking. Have you always used the Kiki food? I'm just wondering if the pellets are contributing to her plucking. Stab in the dark here of course, because I don't know how long she's been plucking and I don't know how long you've been feeding Kiki.

As Monica said, there are some Eclectus that don't do well on pellets, especially colored pellets. Sometimes pellets cause Eclectus to toe-tap or wing-flip. Neither of these are life threatening, but if you see your bird's foot clenching involuntarily and/or hear her nails clicking on her perches while she is roosting, this is toe-tapping.

I do use pellets as a small part of my birds' diet, but did switch from a formula high in fat as it increased blood cholesterol levels in one of my birds.

If you live somewhere that you can find non-colored pellets you may want to try them instead of the colored Kiki brand, especially since your bird seems to like pellets. I recall you said she does like fresh fruit and vegetables. How about sprouted seeds and beans?

I use roudybush pellets for Dewey, but they make up a minimal part of his diet. He likes them so I put them in foraging toys. I know they have a rice diet too I would like to try.

If she is really fond of her pellets I would get her on to something that isnt colored and doesnt have spirulina.

As long as the majority of her diet is fruits and veggies with beans and rice a little bit of uncolored pellets wouldnt hurt.
