awe thank you. Her age is a tough one. By the breeders original hatch date she should be 8 weeks and starting to fledge. When I pinned her down on development issues the breeder said she wasn't really sure of her hatch date because she wasn't incubated from an egg. I brought her into a vet for a well birdie visit Saturday and she said she looked around 5-6 weeks. She's gained 25 grams in 5 days, and she's being a good little piggie at feeding time... that's all I'm concerned with, fattening her up!

I think Monet is going to be a stunner. Very good color already. She looks so much stronger and bigger. Isn't it amazing what a 25 grams does to their overall size? Hey, is she banded? Just curious if it has any info.

thanks! no band. Did you see the violet near her beak? that's not supposed to be there isn't? not that I'm complaining but isn't that supposed to be all red? wonder if it will change. She has lots of pins now on her wings but nothing on her back or body. On one hand I can't wait to see the feathers come in but on the other I will miss the baby down.

The violet will probably molt out. I think back feathers are the last to come in. Hard to remember truthfully. The chubby/fuzzy stage is so sweet, but when they first get all their colored feathers, before they start tearing around and screwing them up, there is nothing quite like a female Eclectus. You will wear down your camera batteries!
