New eclectus owners come here!

What noises do your babies make?

Tiki has a "SQUAWK" noise he makes when he's hungry, so mostly before his food in the morning, and before his dinner. Usually he is demanding something warm.

And then he has a "baby voice" which sounds like he's saying wooo or woooowooooowooo or something like that lol.

He also does a squawk noise when I am talking to him. I can say "wacha doing Tiki?" and he replies squawk low or loudly.

I'm hoping the squawk will cease as he gets older and learns to talk (hopefully) and make other noises.

Do yours scream for any reasons? Yesterday we went out for while and he was demanding some attention when we got home.

I love the squawk! Talula sounds so demanding when she does that! I was suprised to here her make lots of other sounds too. She does this soft sound that rises and falls in pitch, the same as Tiki my zon, sounds like their conversing, it's very pretty. She does a coo sound too, and a meow!

Lat night Lexi was riving me nuts with her screaming! I'd been at work all day and didn't take her so she was NOT HAPPY. I had her in the kitchen with me while doing the dishes but she wanted 'on me' time!

what do their screams sound like? Talula does a high pitched shreik and a really loud squawk.

Trying to figure out how to describe her chatter with Tiki sounds a little bit like a guinea pig?

I think that high and low pitch sound is something Tiki does the "wooo" sounding sound.
It sounds like he's talking to himself, in baby talk.

His squawk is the only other noise he makes so I guess thats his way of screaming.
I've heard him do it pretty loud a few times but usually it's not bad at all.

does he do the high pitched shriek? or is that something Talula picked up from my Pi?
It does sound like she's talking in baby talk to herself!

For a while Sebastian didn't make any noise, I was getting worried he had no voice box or something...LOL then he would make like cooing noises. Now he makes a very low pitched -- don't even want to call it a squak because it's not anything annoying. Only time I ever heard him scream and it wasn't even loud was when he got his nails clipped and they were holding him in a towel what I think was too hard.

Dang, Tiki would squawk to me even on the way home!
I could talk or sing to him and he will reply almost every sentence "squawk!"
He's quiet all day unless I'm washing out his food bowl and putting food in it. Or if I've been gone too long out of the house.

I'm hopeful on him learning to talk early since he responds with noise to us talking to him.
Honestly I don't know if that will have anything to do with it but it just seems like he's trying to communicate.

Today he actually made alot of the nice baby talk noises! I am going to start responding to those rather than the squawks to see if we can cut out the squawking altogether it's not too pleasant lol!
