female eclectus doing a funny thing

I have a question about a female eclectus parrot. The parrots owner is a friend of mine and every time I am over to her store the parrot finds me and sits on my shoulder and nibbles at my ear or tries to take my earring. When I scold her she makes a short hissing sound then puts her beak under her wing and makes a knocking sound. She does this only with me and every time she tries to take my earring. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this kind of behavior before and could tell me what she is doing. Some have said they think she is laughing and I think she likes to hear me scold her so she does it to her me or could she be telling me she is sorry?

My old bird used to LOVE one of my workmates and always try to get to her so he could play with her earrigs. He wasn't allowed, of course, but he was obsessed!

Wow, that is really unique to me! I've never seen a bird talk or make any type of noise when their head is under their wing. Does she do this while she is still on your shoulder? The "knocking" you describe could be her rubbing her lower beak against the upper mandible. They can rub it quite hard sometimes and it almost makes a clack sound. Hard to describe. If this is what she is doing, it's a sign of contentment. She must really like you anyway, since she seeks you out and wants to be on you. I can't imagine how she can manipulate her beak like that when it's under her wing though.

Well, I don't wear earrings, but if Sebastian is on my shoulder, he's obsessed with nibbling on my ear and if I won't let him, he just moves on to trying to preen my hair. LOL
