I hope to rehabilitate him. He has an extensive vocabulary and seems to respond and interact rather then mimic sounds. He is quite smart! He is gentle and sweet. I have macaws and a conure but the eclectus never ceases to amaze me with their beauty and nature. Love these birds!
We've very excited about this and im sure ill have lots of questions later, but my first is, where is the best place in the house to put her? Her last owner had her right in the middle of the house, where all the action is (she was in a very busy house) We live in an apartment, but i am wondering if it is o.k to put her towards the back sliding glass door, so she can look outside more often.

BTW, i am in central Florida.

My second set of parent raised babies are 3 months old this week. They are really super babies. I'm so pleased with their temperaments and health. Both step up immediately upon a hand being presented now; no words are even needed. They are so friendly and calm. These are the two that I held daily for a few minutes once they were about a month old. It really worked. I cannot imagine a hand-fed baby being tamer than either of these two. They are weaning much earlier than the first clutch did also, and I'm not sure why that is. Possibly LaFitte is not quite as enamored at feeding chicks as he was the first time around. Regardless of the reason, they rarely beg to him vocally and seem to eat well from the food dishes. They also fly to me to join in breakfast from my plate. Because I was so excited about having another green man in the household, I figured that Sailor would be the special one. Now don't get me wrong, he is perfect, but little Roma decided that she wants all my attention and makes an effort to come to me, so once again, I have a little girl buddy. Here they are this morning (Sailor and Roma).
