I just leave the cage doors open with my new birds and wait until there ready to come out and this may take a few days BUT it is well worth it to have patience. When they do come out talk in a calm voice and praise them and if you can give them some of there favorite treats. My parakeet nikko just stated coming out of his cage on his own yesterday evening and it took him 4 months so you HAVE to be patient. If you rush them it will only make things worse. So whenever ever your in the room with your birds and are gonna be in there for awhile leave the door open and eventually one will come out and the others will follow and onc they know its safe and fun you will have trouble puting them BACK into the cage but thats just one of the wonders of bird owning!

I told you you were going to laugh but the only thing they are experienced is with coming out of the cage

Its time to get wings clipped before they get a broken neck. You know they can be clipped so they can still fly some, just not as far and fast.

I have plenty of clipped birds and they learn to get on swings and perches just fine. They CAN fly some. Its either that or dead if they are flying wild into things. Or just keep them locked up. Training flying birds can be done with time patience and detication. Not just opening the door and hoping they survive if they smack into a wall or window, its your responsibilty to train or clip before allowing free flight.

I don't think you need to clip their wings, you just need to make the open areas easier for them to acclimate to. When you take them out of the cage, they are getting startled, and they're not sure where is a safe place to land, and they lose control while they panic. So you need to create places that they can be confident about. For instance, get a bird tree or something like that, and put it directly outside their open cage, so they only have to hop to it and put treats on it, etc. Once they are comfortable with that, you can move the tree farther and farther from the cage and they'll soon start flying between them. Now they've got two places that they know they can land. Then you can add more places in the same way. If they are hand tame, you can place them on a new thing, like a boing in the window (with some millet on it to entice them), and then they can fly back to their cage. Eventually they will fly to the boing on their own. Put decals on your windows too.
