Gremaldo turned 3 in the summer, and Jack will be 3 on Dec. 12.

They are brother and sister. Same parents, different clutch.

OK. I haven't got him yet, but his name is Cosby and if I remember right (haven't seen him in a while) he is a blue and black love bird.

They are the only people who have ever owned him, he is less then 2 and the family has no other birds.

When I get him I will post some pics of him.

Yep, that's the cage I was gonna recommend. I have heard TONS of rave reviews and never heard one bad thing about it.

    Congratulations!

Ok. So they decided to make some changes and keep Cosby.

THe problem is...Now I really want one! I never wanted one until Cary put the idea into my head and now I can't get it out.

She says that for my birthday in January she will get me one.

SO now the question is (are): is there a "type" that is better than another and is it better to have a pair or is just one ok?

    Thanks again!

I haven't owned a lovebird in a long time, and I didn't know much when I did (AND what I DID know is outdated information now), but that being said...

If you want a companion that you can bond strongly with, just get one. However, with just one, you have to remember that YOU are its flock and its only form of social interaction. You have to have the time available to spend with it. If you get two at the same time, they are going to be much more likely to bond with each other than with you. You might be able to get one, bond with it, and then add a second bird down the road without losing the bond, but you still run the risk of them bonding with each other instead of you or even them hating each other.

    Good luck!

Vanessa...I welcome any and all feedback (as long as some one doesn't start bashing me over the head! ).

I seriously know nothing about lovebirds but...If I can keep Ki happy, I am confident that I can keep a lovie happy!

So now I want one and my friend is letting me pick which one I want for my birthday. So now I am doing my research about the species in general.

So any help is greatly appreciated!
