    It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.

    They're actually pretty open now... it's just horrifically bright in that room so he clamps his lids shut. By next week, he'll be mostly open, and a week after that he'll have them fully open and charged with the liquid black power of making everyone succumb to his cuteness.
