painting question

i am currently painting my room and was wondering how long do i need to wait to let the fumes clear out before i can put my parakeet in there?

...if you're using latex paint...wait a good 2-3 days before putting the bird back...make sure the windows are open at least a little bit if the weather is inclement...

...sooner is likely okay too (once the paint is dry to the touch), but I'd rather err on the side of caution with drying paint...

Depends on whether the paint is water based or oil based. If it's water based, within 3-5 days should be good as long as you ventilated your room well before bringing in your bird (i.e. leaving the windows, open blowing fans, etc). If it's the oil based paint, I'd wait longer.
