Taming a breeder bird?
Has anyone sucessfully tamed down a breeder bird? I have a close banded breeder Quaker that I think was a pet at one point in time? He knows differnt whistles, kissy noises, etc. He certainly is not a pet now full of spit and vinegar (but what Quaker isnt ;) ) Is it possible with time and patience to make a pet out of a bird like this or would he be better off in a breeder situation?

The more important question is where is his mate? Quaker are little pistols and even pet-only birds can get quite ornery. I imagine all birds are potentially trainable, but I'm not sure all birds should be pets. Do you want a pet that bonds to you or have you fancied breeding baby birds? I hope you don't do the latter unless you understand exactly what you're getting yourself into.
