Bird Band search

Who has a link to a bird band search site with the best results for many states? Thanks

I don't like to use or recommend bands as they can get caught on things etc. and therefore do damage to a bird's foot or leg etc.........If you must have them, do a search on Google I guess.

In Australia, the cockatiel society sells them, my 4 older birds are not banded but my 6 younger ones (Tiki's kids) are banded by myself after I saw how handy they are. The club keeps a registry of who buys what bands and if a bird is ever lost and later found, they can ring our club and find out at least who bred the bird. Most breeders keep track of who buys their birds too. Several lost tiels have found their way home like this.

The fact that the poster said "for many states" seems to suggest that she wants to look up a band number to find out about a particular bird(s). Someone linked to a database online of band numbers one time here - I'll see if I can find it.
