GCC Sexual behavior

Hi,

My male Green Cheek is almost a year old. He's been doing some strange thing where he gets up on his rope perch and tries to rub his bum on it. Oddly enough he holds his little ball in his hand while he's doing this and if he drops the ball, he gets down to retreave it before continuing. He also spends 10 min or so a few times a day rolling about in his happy hut with the ball. Is he trying to mate with the ball perhaps?

Its quite humorous so i don't really mind, I was just wondering if this is normal?
