Exclamation New Mommy!!

I caught a green tagged parakeet that has not developed a color for sex over the beak. I need to know if there is a way that I could track the parakeets origional owner/breeder what do I need to do to ensure that it is healthy. I bought it some tropical parakeet food from Petco and am temporarily borrowing a bird cage from a neighbor. He look in ok shape...I guess?? Is there anyother advice anyone can give me??

Thanks!!
Excited new mommy

P.S. He is a pretty turquous blue....what kind is he???

Providing a photo would help to correctly identify him.

A good seed mix would be fine, though try to make sure that the food does not contain any preservatives (ethoxiquin for example), and that it contains no dyes. Also providing fresh foods such as veggies, some fruit, cooked eggs and beans would be the best idea.

As to possibly finding his owner, you need to look in various classified ads in your area, Craigslist and Petfinder. There are also other places that may advertise a lost bird (Bird Hotline, 911 Parrot, BirdsnWays, among others). Also look around at petstores, grocery stores, and vets places for any ads. Taking down the band number (green leg band/'bracelet') and asking manufacterer of bands what it may be. Also checking out what the bands are on budgies at your local petstores may help locate the 'breeder' (as the bird could in fact be from a breeder in Florida if you live in the states).
