Question on chewy toys

I'm considering adopting a Lesser Jardines Parrot who had past overgrown beak problems. I've discussed his diet with a few people already (the smarter-than-me kind), but I was wondering what kinds of toys should I offer him to keep his beak down? Wood? Textured perches? Anything else? Anything I shouldn't offer him? Thanks so much.

Various types of wood, leather, cotton, sisal, acrylic... May also want to consider feeding hemp seeds as they will help with beaks and feathers. As long as the bird doesn't have any internal problems and is fed a healthy diet, with various toys to chew on he should be able to keep his beak in good shape, saying that he actually chews on the toys...

I've got a cherry head conure who's beak grows quite a bit... she eats good, no problem there, but she wont hardly chew on any hard woods!

I'd try various types of wood (all un treated of course). I take care of two ringnecks who love chewing on wood. However, they are so particular, that they will only chew a certain size wood (even if the two woods are identical yet one thicker than the other). Vary it until you find something they like ;)
