IS this bird sick??please help

My sister-in-law has a cockatiel that is about 10 years old. She was told it is a male. She just came home from vacation to find this:
last night he was acting strande. looked very tired and was staying on the bottom of his cage. When she took him out she said he has poop around his pooping area. She also said she felt a lump there too. Does anyone know what this could be? please reply at tinaory@yahoo.com

This unfortunately sounds serious enough that only an avian veterinarian is going to be able to help this bird. Where do you live?One of our members may know someone in your area.Please do not wait.Birds can go downhill fast.

Needs to go to a vet. Could be a hen and eggbound. Anytime there is soilage near the vet, soemthing is wrong and needs to be addressed ASAP.
please let us know how it goes. good luck.

---> Sick???Please help.

Poop around the bottom sounds like the bird may have a bacterial or fungal infection. A bump around the bottom could be an egg (thus the bird would be female) or possibly a lipoma (fatty tumour).

Your best bet is to take this bird to an avian vet to ensure it is healthy.
