I bring my birds into the shower, I have a special bird shower perch and I can actually shower with them or use my removeable shower head and give them a good soak.

At first they might not like it and might flap or try and get away but I just pick them up again and do it again. Eventually they know there is no getting away from the shower

Ty, my sun, bathes in his water bowl mostly. He will shower with me if I force him, but prefers his water bowl. He generally will not bath if the water is warm. Likes his water cold. Might try adjusting the temp for your guy to see if that entices him. Just a thought! Pam

I agree. Birds prefer cooler water. You'll notice wild birds actually bathing in the puddles when snow melts.

Also, you can try placing a shallow dish in the sink and using a child's watering can, gently pour a shower over her. It will teach her to not fear a shower.

My conure likes it when I put a dish in the sink, slowly run the water just into the edge of the bowl and let her play under the stream and in the bowl. She also prefers cool water.

Well, used cooler water this time in a deep plate and he did the splish slash and let me help with the spray bottle too!! but not to into the preening, he's just letting himself air dry. But at least we made progress today. He's only been home 5 days, so he's really still adjusting. Thanks for all your help.
It is thundering outside and after I said uh-oh a few times to let him know I was here and things were cool, he is saying uh-oh when the thunder booms. At least it sure sounds like it! Thanks again 4 the help!!

The thunder might have helped with the bath! A lot of wild birds only get a bath when it rains.

Yup, Quito turns her beak up at tepid water too. Her favorite bath is her water dish, just when I've replaced it with cold well water. I've noticed that certain dishes seem to be preferred over others too. Stainless steel gets a thumbs up, pyrex thumbs down. Deeper is better too.
