I'm curious...

My baby girl CAG arrives Saturday, so this is really just for future reference...

I've read a LOT of posts and articles about parrots - especially Greys - bonding to a human member of the opposite sex. I have chosen to go ahead and get a female but it does concern me a bit that she may not bond with me or that if I expose her to men, she will bond with one of them, thus rejecting me.

The breeder was a woman and assures me that she was wonderful toward women.

Any experiences/advice to share?

-Kris

Kris:

I have both a CAG and a TAG. Both are DNA'd females and both are bonded to me. Does that make you feel any better?

My CAG is a DNA'd female and is bonded to me. Actually, she barely has anything to do with anybody but me!

Thanks everyone! That does make me feel a lot better.

I've got at least two females here that are bonded to the ladies of the family, my male Harlequin has decided that the sun rises and sets ONLY on me, but will tolerate my hubby if there's a trip to the kitchen and his nut stash in it for him. Kasey, who we 'think' is male..prefers Hubby over me, even tho it was me who finished handfeeding the ungrateful snot!! I really feel that the opposite sex 'rule' is a total myth. Birds are gonna love who 'fit' them best.
