Red face help, budgie problem!

So i have a 3 1/2 month old hand feed budgie, how do i introduce new foods to him/what kinds do i give him? I try to give him millet spray but he does nothign i put it to his face/mouth pretend to eat it and everything. So my grandmother grows tomatos on her patio (she lives in an apartment) in a pot and she just gave us a couple and one is just parakeet size like 5 quarters staked on top ok each other lol! So for his first good meal i want to give him this but how? Plus other foods.

Any response will be appreciated! Thanks,
Alicia

Are you still hand feeding him? Don't give him any of the leaves or stem of the tomatoe plant...I know it is toxic to some animals. and not too much with acid like tomatoes. Try mashed potatoes, carrots, celery, apples (not to many apple seeds though) Try wetting a little corn meal or wheat germ.
I hope I was of some help. If I think of anything else I have given baby's over the years, i'll let you know.

Lots of fresh fruit and veg!

My budgie is especially partial to apple and spinach. If he eats them from your hand great, you can also wet the leafy veg they like to drink the water off and may try a taste while they're at it Could also hand them in his cage and make them look like a toy to get his interest.

Good luck!

This happened to me also. I just hung the millet spray in the cage, and the next day, they figured out what it was for, and loved it.
