my cockatiel plucking neck feathers
i just brought home my two 4 month old cockatiels about a week ago.
today one of them was plucking a feather near the neck and when i got ther cockatiels, they both had no feathers on there necks and im just asking, what happens if a cockatiel gets overheated ? |

i'd have them checked at an avian vet in any case to make sure they're fine... in addition, it's a good practice to establish a baseline for health examines as well as a relationship with the vet in case you ever run into an emergency
reg. overheating - birdlady is right on

Are they plucking themselves or plucking each other? If they're plucking themselves it's probably a medical problem, since cockatiels rarely pluck for psychological reasons.
If they're plucking each other it's a behavior problem (overpreening). I don't have any expertise on this, but putting them in separate cages would certainly stop them. Giving them more toys or activities might help distract them away from it too.
