Best way to find a GOOD avian vet is through referrals from other parrot owners, IMO. They don't necessarily have to be certified to be good, either. I went through 2 certified vets that made me pull my hair out before I found an awesome vet that isn't certified but I'm very comfortable with her.

Ditto. If a vet's name consistently comes up in conversation, you can usually feel comfortable using that person. My vet is not board certified, but he's the only game in town as far as most of the Denver bird world is concerned.
