Anyone ever dealt with avian giardia?

I came home tonight and found 15 feathers on the cage floor. I"m now watching my Illiger's heavily preen and pick at her feathers. Crap, signs that giardia is back. I had this a year ago, and I caught it because of 3 days of heavy feather droppings (a sign of giardia is feather picking.) So I'm headed back to the vet this weekend, but geesh. It took 3 months to get rid of it last year. Has anyone else ever dealt with this? I don't know if they are re-cathing it from the backyard or if it is lying dormant and now re-occuring. I suppose it could be anohter molting session, but I overly worry and dn't want to take any chances. No other signs though. Poops and eats is normal.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion so quickly. All of my macaws are in heavy molts right now.
