Pomegranates?

I don't know if I spelled it right, but I am on vacation and don't have my handy bird recipe book that I usually go by but I need to know if macaws and greys can have it. I purchased some at the store and if not we can eat it but figured I would check.

Yes they can have pomegranates. And yes you spelled it correctly!!!!! I've given it to my Greys, both as a chunk where they pull out the seeds, and just the seeds mixed in with their other soft food. It's very healthy for them too!

Absolutely, birds love them and they are healthy. I add the juice to my birdie bread instead of water for antioxidents.

I've discovered that giving it to a U2 means your beautiful all white bird may have red spots around it's neck until they shed them as it appears to stain feathers too.... :( Doesn't seem that a bath helped do much other than spread it futher down the neck feathers.

Yep--makes a lutino ringie or tiel look like they were doing a walk on in a slasher movie too. Fortunately, I had already panicked at someone else's red feet, so did not have a melt down when I got to that part of the flock the first time they had them!

My grandma had the trees in the yard. The wild birds loved them. Made really good jelly too!
