I just want to say a public thank you for this..I have LONG wondered why, when DNA sexing is readily available, people STILL surgically sex birds. I've asked many a bird person locally, and none had the answer!
So..now I know why my lovely Rudy, the breeder scarlet macaw that is now a beloved pet, was surgically sexed. Nice to know her reproductive organs look good...
