All amazons are prone to fatty liver disease if fed too much seed and nuts. Therefore, the proper diet would include fresh veggies (sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, yams, pumpkin, dark leafy greens, legumes, dried reconstituted beans, some protein in the form of cooked poultry, beef, eggs, fish or pork). You may offer limited amounts of pasta and brown rice as well as some cooked cereals (cream of wheat, oats, etc). Your seed mix should constitute LESS than 20% of your bird's total diet. If you choose to feed pellets (I don't) then follow the recommendations on the bag. Fruits should also be offered, but be careful: high in sugar and very low in real nutritional value. Berries and melons usually offer better food value than apples, grapes and bananas.
