I don't have experience with parrotlets or linnies, but why not another cockatiel?

Having said that, I have ringneck doves and eastern and western rosellas with my cockatiels. The eastern is a grumpy 20-year old male who periodically attacks my 20-year old female dove. Unfortunately I have no place to move him as he can't fly. The only choice would be to house him by himself which I'd rather not do.

The western rosellas get along just fine with the 'tiels.

parrolets are alot more aggressive than tiels, my bet would be that if you got a parrolet, it wuold prob attack the tiel and you prob wouldnt be able to house them together. linnies on the other hand are very sweet little birds, i just love em!! we raise our linnie babies with tiels and they get along just fine. if you do get a linnie, ask the breeder if the bird was raised around other types of birds, when you raise diff species together, the baibes are a whole lot more tolerant of other birds

yes...linnies...would be the better choice. Parrotlets would be more aggressive. Linnies are really sweet loving birdies.:)

all I know is cockatiels are known to be very easily bullied by even birds much smaller than them. thats not much help, but you can do what I do and google-search-engine your question!

Lineolated parakeets have big personalities, and can be territortial, but it shouldnt be a problem since it will not be established as the dominant bird like my spoiled little guy. Other then that they are very sweet and quiet pets. I would have to say that a parrotlet is more likely to bully then a linnie unless you owned the linnie first.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I would say another cockatiel is the best choice, but of the two, I would definitely recommend a linnie.
Parrotlets have more of an attitude, and both of mine always chased my cockatiel around... he (the cockatiel) was scared of them.

Linnies are much nicer, and though I have never heard of them being territorial, they are one of the best birds ever... I have not experienced one bad thing about them.
Sonny (my linnie) has never bitten, been mean, and always has been the sweetest, calmest thing there is.

Members of my linnie forum (link in signature)say the same thing about them.
