Change in Behavior

I've found an abanded parakeet in our building. I took her in and start taking care of her. She has been with me now for a week. Since yesterday, however, I saw a change in her behavior. She sleeps most of the day and her droppings was kind of soupy this morning. She is eating, but little bit at time. Anything that I can do?

Big red flags Nani. Those are typical symptoms of a sick bird. Keep her warm and get her to a competant avian vet ASAP. Little birds can go down hill very quickly so time is crucial....

Nani OK

Thank you for your reply. Little Birdie is actually quite OK this morning. She is playing around in her cage and has eaten quite a bit. Thanks again.

you can give her some camomile tea in her water cup .. it is great for digestive disorders other than that i guess a vet is the answer ... rotten people abandoning a poor little defencless birdy... ought to be fed to vulchers..
