our cockatiel's egg just hatched!! i need help on what to do!! i have no idea and i don't want to harm it. the mom wasnt laying near him or anything! so i put towels around the cage, but left just the front part uncovered. please help me because we are new to this and this is our first baby born alive. the other one the mom sat on and it died..

congrats! relax,mom is going to get some food drink stretch she'll be back,he has enough nutients from the egg, and then she'll be back to feed him or dad will,I know how you feel my ist hatch was totally unexpected and then I worried she wouldn't come back to feed,I thought she should be staying with him wait till you see how fast they grow!

thanks for the help!! and i also heard that giving the mom egg yolks will help the mom's nutrition. thanks for you help!!

ps. i am almost 16 and i am at home with only my 10 year old brother. haha. so i had to call my mom and she called the store we called the birds from. they are nice, so she told us about the egg yolk things. thanks so much again!!!
