Just a Question on this forum..

It is called ask the experts , does that mean only experts may answer posts ..??? I am by no means an expert but feel some questions I would be able to assist with or at least give a encouraging word to a upset member... :eusa_thin

Good question Majj... I'm certainly no expert, but by the same token I'd be more than willing to advise about things I've had or done with my bird to answer questions....

Arrow I think...

...That it means any experts who come here will check that part of the forum more often, but, if it was experts ONLY, they wouldn't let others post, would they?

I'm much more of a rodent expert than I am a bird expert, but it doesn't mean I can't join in conversations and occasionally give advice to people in situations I'm familiar with, so you can too.

We're all here to be around other bird people and to share our knowledge for the good of our feathered companions, right?

Majj,

My understanding has always been that this is the forum to ask questions and that everyone is free to contribute answers. From following your posts on the other forum I know you have lots of knowledge, wisdom and experience. If you see a post with a question you have insight on, just jump right in. There are times when the only answer is a good avian vet, but there are loads of other questions we can help each other with.

I'm no expert. I've only had a bird for a year and a half. I only offer advice here if I feel i can be of some assistance or give different opinions. Anyone can post here...I'm just careful about clarifying how I got my info, and making sure my opinion isn't the only one.

Sounds like everyone for the most part figured out what this section is about. Others too have been confused in the past, though its best to learn from all advice and opinions rather than just one!

I am not an expert, just someone who has owned many many birds over a long long long period of time. I just help out when I think I can. I think "expert" is just a terminology.

That is correct for now. However, we have some BIG things coming soon to BB. Among them are REAL experts who will help ALL of us learn the inside stuff on our birds. I agree, however, that NO ONE is more expert about YOUR bird than you.

This forum is really to address problems and solutions about living with birds. Bird Talk is about general bird related things and The Lounge is about UNRELATED bird things that we all like to share.

For now, the species forums are really a shortcut to get right to the specific questions and suggestions you may have about specific KINDS of birds. This area doesn't get a lot of traffic, however, so often threads wind up in Experts and Bird Talk. Hope that helps.

THE OUTLAW
