U2 or LSC

hi guys just a question on toos.
i want 2 buy a too but, not sure which one to get either a u2 or a lsc,
im going to ask around as i want to no which one is more loud and noisier.
i do have limited funding as im only a student and dont work so the lsc would be of a higher ranking in the list, as it would cost me approx £700 and a U2 would be in the range of £1000- £1300

i would b greatful for any info weather regarding the question or not thanks :icon_mrgr

IMHO I think the LSC could be your better pick. I sort of had this dilemma a few months back. Check out my post: Interested in owning a U2

If you haven't come across it yet, also check out www.mytoos.com. Both have some really good information for you. I've never had a U2 or LSC (I have had a Goffins), but I do know that the U2s are extremely loud. You say you're a student, I don't know what your living situation is, but a U2 (and probably a LSC) wouldn't be a good choice (unless you live at home or alone). As was suggested to me, if you must have a 'Too, go with a Goffins. They are as intelligent and love to snuggle and cuddle just as much. Good luck with your decision.

If noise is an issue (and trust me, it is) ALL toos are very noisy. The Goffins is not as bad as the larger birds, but they can all peel paint. And that's coming from someone with 10 parrots, mostly macaws.

I have three cockatoos; one LSC and 2 U's. All three are very, very noisey, very dusty, and require a lot of time and attention. They chew on anything they can get their beaks on....................just this morning, while typing this reply, Buck Buck was on the floor of the bird room chewing on the door frame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I adore the too's, however, as a first bird I wouldn't recommend them.

My first parrot I use to want was a B&G macaw, as a young child I recall seeing them in a bird show is Florida, I thought they were the most beautiful bird I've ever seen. As I got older, and got hooked on the T.V. show called Barretta (with Robert Blake) I fell in love with the U2. Well, as we know, these are all the wrong reasons why people get pets. As a volunteer at the OSPCA, they said the demand for dalmations greatly increased with the 101 Dalmation show, as well as the demand for Jack Russell Terriers like on Frasier. These are all "just fads".
What I'm saying is..listen to yourself for just a moment. You said noise is a factor, and if THAT'S true, then perhaps this is not a good time for a U2. I believe when aquiring ANYTHING, that if we say from the start, "I love this, BUT......" then I can guarantee, THAT will be the exact reason you get rid of it later.
Hopefully I didn't offend you. I just think you should look at the pros AND cons of any type of bird you wish to get. Don't be in a hurry, that's the worst time to get something. This is a lifetime commitment!!

noise may be a factor not for me but for another residence in the house hold, and ill never no until its there
next door both sides have parrots that are quite loud so their not an issue. i realy am torn through the middle with this as iv always realy wanted an LSC but was never financialy equipped for a stable commitment and now i am.
iv tried looking at so many discouraging sites but it hasent helped
wot do i do?
R macaws loud?
how much more loud is and LSC to a CAG?

noise

a LS2 is as loud as a U2 and they are both about 20 times louder than a cag or tag.

If you dont want a bird stuck up your butt 24/7 then dont get a too because they are like velcro if they see you or hear you they have to be on you.

I have 5 toos and they are great birds but i would not recommend one for anyone that is not at home all day every day because you cant just leave them in a cage while you are gone and expect anything but a neurotic mess after a while.

A goffins would be the best bet or a bare eyed but you still cant leave them alone all day while you are gone without creating problems.
