I wouldn't do it. If you do, is there a second 'favorite person' who could come over and spend a bit of time with him (even a few hours) while you're gone? That might reassure him!

I did this one time (only once) with my little parrotlet. It worked out just fine. I left the tv on for her, a light, and plenty of food (including her favorite nuts) and extra water. She was just fine, although I got a nice painful nip when I got home followed by begs for scritches. :) She made sure I knew she was NOT happy with me leaving her, but she survived! BTW, you're in Toledo right? I am two hours away in East Lansing and would be happy to chat with you about birdie sitting if you ever go away for a longer period of time. I know the vet gets expensive. Good luck!

i too wouldn't chance it something my go wrong when i get my bird i would not be leaving it alone overnight on its own without someone coming over to check on him. water should be changed daily and food kept fresh. clean cage everyday i mean like take out the paper or what ever substrate you use. there dropings can cause diesease. there cage should be disfected once a week or even more. toys, perches, every couple of days. You could always take your bird with you,Julie at the pet shop here takes her birds where ever she goes if she goes to melbourne they go too she has even taken them to canberra which is a 9 to 10 hour trip. You could find that some birds get into trouble when left home alone and you have to watch it some birds know how to open there cages up. Going out for the day is fine but i wouldn't leave a bird overnight on its own things can happen and there will be no one there to care for him.

I wouldn`t leave him either 7months he is just a baby and would fret as well as something could happen with his water food etc ...If you do leave you should have a reliable friend stop in a couple of times to check on him spend some time chatting and keeping him company..
I guess this a totally individual thing , only you know your bird and the set up in your home , will you be relaxed knowing he is alone or will you be worried the whole time ..I know I would be a mess with worry... Best of luck ...
