My poor charley

My female tiel Charley died suddenly she was not sick she lived in an Avery with Pee Wee her mate and six budgies.I was told she may have been scared during a bad thunderstorm we had, and flew in to the wall of the avery and broke her neck. I dont know that much about these birds as I inherited the avery. My question is should I get Pee Wee a new mate or leave it as is.Any suggestions would be much appreciated. By the way I am new on this board.

Arrow Aww... Poor bird...

With all these stories I keep hearing about aviaries, it makes me wonder why more people don't recommend buying/making some sort of emergency cover to go over them in case of fireworks, fumes, etc...

To my knowledge, though, much as you could take some time to train your tiel better if you wanted to; he would be happier with a friend. After all, much as birds can learn to love people; we generally can't be around for them all day every day.
