Soon to be new baby grey owner
Hi, the time is drawing near. Three years ago, I babysat a baby grey for a week (the owner went on vacation just after they bought her - I knew enough that you could not leave the baby ALONE to be fed and watered once a day for a WEEK!! - so I demanded to watch the baby for them) I had a blast! I always knew a little about parrots, but never owned one - well that was it - I have been in love since then and finally am settled to start a relationship and care for a baby grey - Does anyone have any advice about owning my first parrot? I am familar with birds in general and have read alot these past few years, but I am still nervous - it is just like adding a child to your family :D --- Thanks - K

Thanks. I have a pet friendly home and they are treated as part of the family. I am a little worried about the training/bonding, but you are right, with proper socializing, the baby should be fine. I plan on getting one this fall or it may have to be next spring. ** I had another question. I have a parakeet that surprisingly enough, I found at my job's parking lot with his wings clipped on the ground  . Dexter has lived with us for a year and I swear is a parrot in a parakeets body - I want to assume that I have a bird friendly home as far as keeping him safe and healthy - is that a safe assumption or are larger birds more delicate to care for?? - Thanks again for your words of encouragement and advice --- K
