Please Help. Cockatiel leg
Hi. I am not sure that I am posting to the right section, but I really need help with my bird. I have a cockatiel and 2-3 days ago he started having this twitch in his leg. He would walk around then stop then bite on his ankle and his leg would go into this uncontrollable spasm - shaking the leg really fast. Then he would stop, run around some more and repeat the whole process. Every 2 minutes he would do this. It's as though he has something stuck in there around his ankle area or as though a moscito bit him. The next day it was the same thing. Only he would shake it so violently anymore. He taps it now every 30 seconds or so. Just taps it against the perch or whatever he is sitting on at the time every 30 seconds. He walks fine, runs fine, climbs his cage fine, hangs upside down fine, eats fine, but taps his legs when he is still...jerks it sometimes...and sometimes just holds it in the air. I can see that something is bothering him in the leg, but not to the extent where it would stop him from his regular activities. He is not in pain, but something is wrong with the leg. I am sorry for rambling, but I just wanted to explain the situation in detail. I reluctant on taking him to the vet because it would be a big shock for him. He gets very scared of things and I don't want to stress him. Please any advise would be helpfull.
