Help Air Purifier & parents renovating

Hi,

I have 12 birds -- 9 budgies and 3 Bourke parakeets. My parents professionally replaced the windows in our house, and I panicked when I smelt the caulking used outside inside. We quickly taped garbage bags over the all the windows. They were covered within 2 minutes. I quickly bought a Sharp Plasmacluster N25CX air purifier for my bedroom. It wiped all the smell out of the air within 20 minutes. I ran it all the night, and the birds are happy and fine. Now I read on the Internet that Ionic Air Purifiers aren't recommended because they produce small traces of ozone. There is an FAQ on the Sharp website that reads:

"Ozone is an issue that has gotten a lot of press in recent years. The reality is that there are a wide range of electrical appliances that give off ozone. Health Canada has established two basic guidelines in regards to ozone. #1 - You cannot use ozone as a means of air purification. #2 - Incidental production of ozone cannot exceed 0.05 ppm (parts per million). Our Plasmacluster Ion air purifiers generate less than 0.001 ppm, or more than 50 times less than the legal limit. I'm not an expert on parrots, but hopefully this helps. Thanks, Nick Wagner Director Ecology Solutions Department"

Is this air purifier safe to run until the smell is gone? The smell is going (it's been 72 hours), but I want to be safe. Please help.

smell gone

Hi,

The smell is gone from the hallways now (it was never in the birdroom because we sealed it) and the sharp air purifier worked wonders.
