PLEASE SOMEBODY REPLY-My Tiel's "Cyst"?

I am worried about my Shadow. She has a reddish-pink "bump" right next to her beak on the left side. It seemed to come up overnight, as it wasn't there yesterday. I took her by to the place where I buy her millet, (as they sell tiels AND take in injured/sick wild birds) this evening and the young lady on duty is not the lady that is the expert. Anyway, she said to take her to the vet on Monday (which I fully intend to do). But in the meantime, I'm worrying that it might be cancer....is this possible ? I rescued a dove one time that had a growth next to it's eye and the wildlife guy said it was cancer and they would have to euthanize the bird....I'm worried sick now...!!
She is eating and drinking okay and doesn't seem to be in any pain. She didn't flinch when I was stroking her head and accidentally touched the spot.
Please anybody have any thoughts or ideas ???
Thank you all !
Janet

It may not be cancer... Possibly a cold, as one budgie formed a bump below her eye due to a cold.. It's not the same type of cold that we get, though... Cancer usually takes a while to form...

Let's see what the vet (avian vet, I do hope) has to say about it!
