Exclamation Urgent Bird Was Attacked by His Parents Reply Immediately
Ok. I own 2 doves Spirt male white ring neck & Ivy female tangerine/white ringneck. They recently had a baby . He is 1 mth. and 4 days old he wasn't fully weaned so i left him in with parents. Bad idea! 3 days later after his becoming 1 month old his mother attacked him while i was out getting food she had him pinned to floor of cage . ( was on his back when i got home). Now his leg and wing are hurt he can't even grasp my finger with left leg wing is getting better. I will take em to vet if not better by tomorrow this happened tues night. Been hand feeding him. Any suggestions? His name is Snow flake, Snowy or Snow are his nicknames he is pure white with hidden tangerine genes.

Maybe you could call and explain what has happened and tell them that pay day is not till tomorrow. They may understand and tell you to bring him in. Just a suggestion .

ok. he can move his wings but he still has his foot curled up , he perches with one foot. He responds to me moving hurt fott but can't grib he can put his toes around finger not grasping like when a child holds on to your finger with all it's might his leg i really messed up i will try to take emin today but it's 3 vets are closed prb by now

Birdmaniac were you able to get into the vet today ? Was wondering how your bird is doing.

Nope he's doing better can get in and out of nest and he is eating and drinking normally.

Good news, yes, though I still don't see why there is a nest, especially if the hen is going to be aggressive about it and will even hurt the chick (which I am not sure if its even hers or not)....

It's her chick he's been a seperate cage since she attcked him . she is going to lay eggs soon. He is going to vet tomorrow ! Finally got an avian vet at Women's Humane Society from 8-4 sometime between around 1 30 he will be taken care of. :icon_mrgr
