Fruit Loop Did Not Make It

It's so sad, but our parakeet Fruit Loop died today. She looked sick yesterday and I got him to the avian vet as early as I could today. He ran three tests and gave him fluids and some antibiotics, but after I got him home, he didn't last long. Hopefully the vet can tell me tomorrow what happened.

I'd like to get another parakeet, but will never buy from pet store again. (we got him at Aqua Zoo in January).

Does anyone know any reputable breeders in the Jacksonville, Florida area?

What about the cage? Should I throw out everything that belonged to poor Loopy? Can I disinfect toys, etc.? I don't want to take any changes of infection.

oh dear my heart goes out to you. I can't imagine what you must be going through. When they are sick they go so fast. their poor little bodies just can't take it. I do pray that you know you did all you could and not to feel guilty.
Yes you can boil the toys and clean the cage with vinager water.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Rose

I am so so sorry to hear of your loss. Fruit Loop was lucky to have such a good carer while he was alive.
