Splayed legs in turkey poult
Help! How do you 'hobble' a leg to fix a splayed leg? Turkey poult is 11-12 days old and growing on commercial Purina Turkey Starter, and as recommended by all turkey books, on a wire floor in a brooder. It must have been a bit rough play with the other poults. They have been hopping, flapping, and running a lot. I have vet wrap handy, but the diagram & directions I found on the web aren't too explicit. If I use foam, the other poults will eat it. I may have to isolate it from the 11 others?

You may want to start off by isolating this bird from the others. Next, you may want to have a softer floor (such as having towels over the wire). You don't want the floor to be rough or too hard, especially since this one has splayed legs. You may want to look for some other diagrams to fix splayed legs or even take the young one to a vet who has dealt with farm animals or birds.
