How did she die? If you are not certain why she died you may want to make sure that it was nothing viral, otherwise your male and and any new bird might get sick as well.
When you purchase a new female you will need to quarantine her from any other birds for 30 days, in case she has any contagious medical problems. That gives you time to notice any health problems, and allows time for any problems to develop.. If she is healthy after 30 days, you shouldn't just put her straight in with the male, as males are agressive and territorial and may kill or injure her. You need to put them in seperate cages fairly close together, so they can get used to each other. If they seem to be getting along after a week or so, you can try putting the male in the female's cage (but not the other way round). You will need to keep an eye on them over the first few weeks to make sure there is no agression, and be prepared to seperate them again if neccessary. Please heed my advice and don't just put a new female straight in with the male, as rosellas are very agressive and are well known for fighting, and you may end up with another dead bird. Good luck!

As far as I know, a red rosella is a crimson rosella, so I think they are the same thing. If they are different types of rosellas, please don't put them together as they are different species, and any babies will be unwanted hybrids.
Here is a photo of some crimson rosellas, if both the male and the female look like this they should be fine. http://www.richardandjo.com/images/rosellas.jpg
