What do you think of this play stand?

Bird Stand Play/Gym for Parrot

I'm looking for something for my conures. I just wonder if they will pick the highest spot and sit, and the rest of the ladders and perches are wasted. Would it just be cheaper to make one with a T-perch? I have a small wheeled utility cart that I can put the perch on and roll around the house. I have a limited budget, so I'm tempted by these listings. I just wonder if it's waste of space. The playstand that's listed is basically the same dimensions as their cage, minus the bars. And their cage has plenty of toys and perches.

There is this one: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/pet/1292145335.html
But it seems kinda flimsy and would be difficult to keep it clean.

What kind of playstand do you have, and how do you like it?

That for $50 bucks is an AWESOME deal!! You can hang toys on it and I know that its built really well and bird safe. Man if they had one of those here I would buy it in a heartbeat - they are very expensive online! I say go for it, it would probably cost more to make one of that type. Keep us posted!

Between the two I'd say go with the first one. Neither of my conures use just the "highest spot" although that is where they are most of the time.

All I've got is table top playstands (no pictures) and they aren't necessarily the best, either. Then again, I don't use em much.

Thanks! :) I just emailed the person who has the first one for sale. Let's see if it's still available or not.

ETA: I should have posted this in the right forum . . . sorry.

I think the first one is a great deal and I actually like that stand alot. I would get it, providing it is not completely rusted, you may be looking into sanding and re-painting some of it.
I got my cage that way and had to paint over a few areas but I got a great deal for sure.

Have you thought about PVC playstands? We made one and I think it's great :)

I liked the first one, the second one that was white is not the greatest over all. It also depends upon the amount of space that you have to house this stand.

Thanks for your input. I am driving there to look at it tomorrow. If it's in good condition I will go ahead and buy it. If there is any refurbishing that needs to be done to it, I'm not going to get it. I don't have time to sand/repaint anything right now. I saw some for sale on-line and noticed that they actually are pretty staggard with the perches and ladders, not all 2D like it looks in the photo.

failurebydesign, I would love to know how you built your PVC play stand. I have seen those around a lot and would like to try and make one myself.
