missing feathers

So I recently purchased a baby BE2 and am awaiting to pick her up this weekend. I've only got to visit with her a few times because i live quite a distance away but the last time i visited her she had a bald spot her the left side of her neck..... Shes about 4 to 5 months old and is in the process of weaning. Now i realize she is molting because she has tons of pin feathers all over her but none on this bare spot. I am now in a panic!!!!!!! Could something be wrong with her???
Coud there be a reason for this spot????
Help, I couldnt sleep last nite worrying about her.

Hard to say without seeing the spot, whether it might be normal or not... any chance for pictures?? Birds normally have featherless areas on either side of the neck, slightly more prominent on babies and especially 'toos, but they're not visible unless you move all the other feathers out of the way.

Is she housed with other birds, like siblings, maybe one of them decided to remove a chunk of feathers from her neck? Did you ask the breeder/hand-feeder about it? Sounds to me like it could be something like that, an accident that resulted in some pulled feathers.

If they were pulled out, they should start coming back in as pinfeathers pretty quick.

Its about a half inch long and is more more rectangular than circular. I asked about it and the response was its common to have it....
You cant notice it unless you move the feathers out of the way.
