What kind of bird should I get?

Hello. I already have a parakeet but she's very antisocial even though we let her out everyday and I've had her now for 3 years. She's tame but very territorial and nippy. I'm looking into getting another type of bird. I'd keep them separate of course.
I want a small, friendly, not too loud and not nippy parrot. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

I would research some into some of the birds that have some of the things you are looking for, however it will be a bird so they can make noise and sometimes get nippy. Your best bet is to go with the bird that you want. Do your research on the different species and go from there. BB is a great place to get info and I am sure many others will be able to give you some more sound experienced advice. I am in the stage of my research that I am now looking into breeders and what I want in them and dont want, etc., etc. But there are tons of passionate bird owners on here who can help you with some questions you may have about whatever bird you choose. And Welcome to bird board!

Well if you don't want nippy don't get a parrotlet. They are like tiny amazons and can be agressive. Lovebirds must be handfed to be tame so search for a good breeder. They must be worked with daily to insure they stay tame. They can be pretty nippy at times too. Cockatiels are great. Buy a handfed male from a good breeder. They are great whistlers of tunes and some can learn to talk. Females don't tend to talk or whistle tunes but they are sweet too. Someone suggested lorikeets, they are great little birds. I like the iris lorikeet. Very pretty, not loud and extremely playful. They are hyper though. Really hyper! They also require a special diet. You might want to check out some of the small conures.
Just remember all birds nip and all birds make noise. It all depends on what you are looking for.

I like some noise just no screaming or anything. My friend has sun conures and its horrible the noise they make all day. I'd like an easy to care for bird though in case we do go on vacation I can leave the birds in care of my mom. I just don't like how my parakeet nips all the time. I'd like a bird that would want to spend time with me.
