I am getting some warming plates this winter. My house doesn't hold heat well, and my GCC was a chilly little peanut in the mornings last winter. I also have a half nekkid CAG. They aren't in the cage, so no danger there. I also heard some negatives about the heated perches, and my CAG has had enough foot issues. They are a little pricey...but what can you do? They can move away from the heat source if they want, or if you cover part of the cage near it, you can create a little 'warm hut' within their cage. I found them here...

Hi, my birds have had a heated pirch for several years and they love it as far as I can tell. It has never burned their feet or caused any problems. I don't think it even gets hot enough to burn them. Also, the pirch is progressively warmer from one end to the other, so they can move along it for the amount of heat they want. There are plenty of other pirches in their cage that they can move to if they find the heated one is too warm. I put the heated pirch as the highest one so they will want to sleep on it and they usually do.
