tough choice...need some advice

I am thinking of taking tango and paco back to the pet store...not ebcause i dont want them because i do but my husband is probably deploying on Jan 11th and if he does i wont handle tango because he bites me so that means he wont be handled for more then a year and paco....he's such a sweet heart and i know i'll cry if i take him back but he deserves a mommy and daddy who can buy him the toys he needs and provide him more love then we can and have more experience then us....plus in a few years we are gona have kids and I dont want the birds to end up feeling neglected because they will have to take a back burner to the baby(s).....guys help....what would you do?

Well, if you REALLY can't keep him , i wouldn't take him back to the pet store. I'd try and find him a GOOD home, with people who have experience with birds. What kind of bird is Paco? Why won't you be able to handle him ?

and on the kids thing? IMO, thats something that you should have thought about before bringing a bird home..

I hope you figure out something that works for you and Paco.

I wont be able to handle my husbands bird tango for a year....tango was at first my bird but took to justin so justin took over him as owner....now tango attacks me.....but the year thing....my husband is in the navy and is likely deploying in january and will be gone for more then a year and since tango bites me i dont handle him...I think im gonna go ahead and take paco back....and leave tango up to justin because thats his bird and his choice

If you know you aren't going to take care of them properly, I'd advise you to return them. My Rico was bought and then returned... and it was lucky for me as I ended up with the sweetest Sun...

You never know where they may end up, but I can tell you that two of my boys came from a very similar situation to yours... and it's been a lot of 'issues' to sort out. Better if those issues aren't created in the first place. You need to be honest about not handling that bird with your husband. Hopefully he'll do the responsible thing and rehome it. It's NOT fair to leave a bird in a cage for a year without interaction when that's what it's used to.

There is a solution to that one, don't sell them, rehome them!

That would only work if you knew someone, or were recommended someone, you could trust.
