Bird bleeding and just threw up blood and seed

I dunno what to do. I took Alaska in the shower with me so he could get misted and I noticed he was beeding right above his poop hole. I'm not sure how it got there so I cleaned it looked for a blood feather couldnt find any broken and cleaned it a little more with peroxide and put some Animax on it( this same ouch was on my bird chicken back in the day and I had medicine left over.) Well I dunno why but he threw up bloody watery and seedy puke. What do I do? This happened to Chicken and they couldnt do anything to save him and he passed away. Will the Vet be able to help? Why is he throwing up? I dunno what to do. This bird is my best friend. I can't loose him! I've had him since he was four weeks old! Someone give me some advice to hold me over through the night.

He definetely needs to get to an avian vet asap. That sounds really serious. Please try to keep him warm and quiet through the night. Just get to the vet the minute he opens in the morning, don't know if you have emergency night vets there. I'll be praying for you.

He needs an avian vet ASAP!!!! Beyond that sounds like internal problems (did he get into something that he wasn't suppose to, or are there fumes in the home that are making him sick causing his internal organs to be disrupted???) Something is definately wrong, and from the sounds of it, it's either a disease or somethings wrong in your environment/home...

Doing better

Well the cut on his tail is what I'm guessing from flying and landing in a not so good way. He's doing much better. No more blood. Got some meds though from the VET.....is that better?

I don't care if he's not bleeding or not. YOU MUST VET THIS BIRD NOW OR YOU LIKELY WILL LOSE IT.

Did you bring the bird to the vet? What kind of meds are you giving it?

Your bird is very very sick and it needs immediate attention. Seeing this has happened to another one of your birds, and it died... are these symptoms not enough of a warning sign for you????? Do you not consider vomiting blood and seed to be a serious matter?????

Duh!

Where do you think I got the medicine from guys? Calm down....geez! It's only the best for my babies.

I can see why you guys got confused. I had used the cream (meds) from last time. I took him to the vet last night and they couldnt find anything wrong except that he had a cut. They gave me antibiotics just in case and he's been finde since. Feet warm, sleeping on one foot with his beak tucked into his wing...singing and all. :eusa_clap

Lol

Its not really anything to laugh about until you find out that everything is really OK.

I have seen this same thin happen more times than i can remember with birds that come in and it is caused by the bird swallowing blood from a feather or cut.

The blood itself then makes the bird throw up(it will do the same with humans that swallow allot of blood from a broken nose or something like that)

But any time you have a doubt about what is wrong with your bird always get your bird to a vet ASAP because the main killer of birds after an injury is blood loss and shock and a broken rib after a fall can cause internal bleeding too.

John
