Exclamation Time to bond???

Feo may be ready to come home sooner than expected. But here's the deal. I leave on the 5th of July for a business trip that will last 5 days. We want Feo to be social and friendly with people in general, and to love both my wife and myself, but my wife is not experienced to be Feo's primary caregiver. And having a Greenwing having been a dream of mine for the last 10 years, my wife and I both would really like him to bond to me.

I don't mind bringing him home, we are ready for him where supplies are concerned, but we don't want to bring him home and have me come back to a bird who doesn't want anything to do with me. Is one week enough time for me to be able to leave for 5 days and come back? The aviary has agreed to keep him until the 10th if we'd prefer, but I don't want Feo to develop too much of an attachment to their family either.

PLEASE ADVISE!!!

You could always teach your wife what to do with Feo and be sure to have a grand time with him while you can but if your wife is not up to caring for Feo for a week on her own, it might be better to leave him at the breeders and bring him home later. It may be better in the long run if you leave him for a bit longer just to know that he is fully eating on his own and that there would be less of a chance that he may relapse into wanting to be handfed.
